How to Read This Guide
Each rig is scored on four criteria measured during our standard Hash Board Serviceability Assessment. Scores range from 1 (difficult to service) to 10 (fastest documented swap with readily available spares). These numbers come from physical teardowns, not manufacturer documentation.

Board Swap Time
Measures the average minutes to extract and reinstall a single hash board using standard tools. The Whatsminer M50S leads this category because its slide-rail mechanism requires no shroud removal for the middle slots. The S19 XP scores lower due to a PSU shroud that must be partially lifted before accessing the rear board clips.
Diagnostic Access
Evaluates whether LED fault codes and serial diagnostic ports can be read without removing adjacent boards or power distribution units. Antminer models generally score well here because Bitmain places diagnostic ports on the control board face. Avalon units require a partial rack extraction to reach the serial header on certain board revisions.
Spare Parts Availability
Based on lead times from three South Korean distributors as of our most recent quarterly check. A score below 5.0 means at least one distributor reported lead times exceeding 21 days for new hash boards. The M30S++ scores lowest because MicroBT has shifted production focus to the M50 series, reducing M30S board stock in Korea.
What These Scores Do Not Tell You
Serviceability is one factor in hardware selection. Power efficiency, hashrate per watt, noise levels, and purchase price are equally important for most operations. A rig scoring 6.0 on serviceability may still be the right choice if your farm has dedicated maintenance staff and established spare-part contracts.
